Mobile Tour stops May 3-7, 2011, with fun, games and education
LAKE FOREST, Calif. – April 24, 2011 – Kwikset®, the leader in innovative residential door hardware, brings its cross-country Smart Security Tour to Washington D.C., providing local residents the opportunity to learn how to improve their home security, simply and easily, in a fun, interactive environment.
In addition, to further extend the Smart Security experience, Kwikset will end its tour stop in the District of Columbia’s 5th District with the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) and the Metropolitan Police Department supporting a community outreach event. With DC’s 5th district incurring more than 3,000 crimes year over year over the last decade, the event will foster dialogue among community members about creating safer homes and neighborhoods throughout the city. In turn, this dialogue will support Kwikset’s initiative to drive additional awareness, conversation and action around both home security and crime prevention.
“Helping people keep themselves, their families and their communities safe from crime is the mission of the National Crime Prevention Council,” said Ann M. Harkins, President and CEO, National Crime Prevention Council. “I am thrilled to have Kwikset join NCPC as a corporate sponsor as we develop and implement prevention programs that show citizens how to increase the safety and security of their homes.”
